Dave McCandless - Deck '44

I was born on March 13, 1926 in Coleraine Co., Londenderry, N. Ireland.  My memories of the Vindi are unpleasant as I was in the lifeboat when one of the boys fell overboard and drowned in the canal.  The 'boys' who have pictures of their group are the lucky ones as we did not have that and it is hard to remember names and faces after 50 years.  I came to Canada in 1953 and lived in Toronto until 1987, and now live with my wife in Alliston, Ontario.
